The fabulous paintings by Enrique Collar (1964) are at the same time poetic, modern and above all filled with mystery. The artist often depicts women, mainly his two daughters, who are his inspiration and his muses. His portraits are everything but ordinary. There is always more going on beneath the surface: a story or symbolism, which is hinted upon in the title, but never fully revealed. Collar uses a set of deep colours and sets of the darker hues in the background with more vivid ones on the foreground. His oeuvre has one several awards, amongst which the first prize in the Figurativas Painting and Sculpture Competition, organized by the Meam Museum in Barcelona.
